Advocacy
The AADSM advocates improved patient care and adequate reimbursement for dental sleep medicine services by focusing on enhancing relationships with members of Congress, federal regulatory bodies including the FDA, third-party payers, and affiliated organizations.

Annual Meeting
The AADSM Annual Meeting, hosted in conjunction with the APSS Annual Meeting each June, presents numerous educational opportunities for members, including continuing education classes, state-of-the art lectures, networking opportunities, table clinics and exhibitor booths.

Awards

Awards are based on exceptional initiative, leadership, progress and service demonstrated in the field. Awards include: Pierre Robin Academic Award, Distinguished Service Award, Honorary Member and Best Abstract in Dental Sleep Medicine.

Certification
The American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine recognizes individuals with expertise in dental sleep medicine for the management of sleep related breathing disorders through examination and identifies individuals that possess appropriate proficiency in the field of dental sleep medicine.

Committees
Become an active member of the academy by joining a committee. Committees include: Awards, Education and Curriculum, Membership, Presidential Committee on Dental School Curriculum, Professional Relations, Program, and Reimbursement Committee.

Continuing Education

Dialogue
The Academy�s quarterly publication, Dialogue, informs members of national developments, research, new technologies and appliances, as well as, feature articles highlighting topics that impact the field, dental and medical issues, media reviews, government issues and a calendar of upcoming event.

Members receive discounts on journal subscription, educational/promotional products and attendance to the AADSM Annual Meeting and the Introduction to Dental Sleep Medicine Course.

Insurance Support
The AADSM Reimbursement Committee works to refine insurance support packages, including coding, procedures for reimbursements and sample letters.

Intro to Dental Sleep Medicine Course
The new Introduction to Dental Sleep Medicine course offers a comprehensive background in sleep medicine, oral appliance therapy, and practice management that will provide attendees the training necessary to implement a dental sleep medicine component in their practice.

Practice Management
The Academy provides resources and training to keep members aware of practice-related issues in dental sleep medicine. The AADSM helps new members introduce a dental sleep medicine component into an existing dental practice and stay abreast of changes and trends in best business practices and recommended policies.

Resources/Educational Products
The AADSM also makes available a monthly email update and an international resource center containing supplemental support materials, including patient education pamphlets, educational CD-ROMs, lecture toolkits, reading lists and additional benefits exclusive to members.

Sleep and Breathing
Members receive Sleep and Breathing, the official, peer-viewed journal of the AADSM addressing issues that affect practitioners involved in the management and treatment of patients with sleep disorders breathing. Members also receive a free online subscription.
