The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine is dedicated to the treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders through use of oral appliance therapy and upper airway surgery. As part of its stated mission, the AADSM works with patients to create a positive public awareness of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and snoring.

This section is dedicated to educating patients with sleep disorders and the public at-large about dental sleep medicine. Dental sleep specialists may treat sleep-related breathing disorders, but may not provide diagnosis. If you suspect you may have sleep apnea or any other sleep disorder, the AADSM encourages you to talk with your physician or schedule an overnight sleep study at an AASM-accredited sleep center.
