Advances in Dental Sleep Medicine Course

Overview

This course will include the presentation of current and future technologies and strategies for optimizing management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients. The information and insight gained by course attendees will lead to a deeper understanding of the complexities of treating OSA patients. While this course may be beneficial in some instances for dentists who are seeking to become Diplomates of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, it is not specifically directed toward preparation for the board certification exam. 

The AADSM designates this activity for 11 ADA CERP continuing education credits.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify trending technologies used in the treatment of OSA
  • Describe options and strategies for optimizing treatment outcomes
  • Elucidate predictors of treatment success to properly manage expectations of the dentist, physician, and patient
  • Appreciate the importance of treating OSA through a collaborative approach
