Accepted Topics:

• Dental sleep medicine
• Practice management, coding, billing for dental sleep medicine (limited to 7.5 of the total 15 hours)
• Topics that have clinical relevance to dental sleep medicine, such as management of side effects, emerging therapies, and adjunctive topics

Not accepted: Non-DSM topics, practice management and billing not related to DSM, and any learning on topics that have no relance to OAT. CE credits originally used to gain the designation are not acceptable.

Accepted Delivery Method and Providers

• Online CE
• In-person CE
• CE can come from any provider, so long as it meets all requirements
• You must be participant of educational offering
• ADA-CERP or AGD PACE

All accepted CE is at the discretion of the AADSM Board of Directors. CE will not be reviewed in advance of submitting an renewal application.

Credit for Lectures and Presentations

Up to 7.5 of the 15 total can come from hours earned by lecturing and/or authoring educational activities. The remaining CE credits must be earned by participating in educational activities as a learner. To claim CE hours from lecturing or authoring, refer to the following information.  Actual CE credits will not be issued by the AADSM; instead, these activity hours will be counted towards the total number of required hours for renewal.

• Each hour of lecture is accepted as equivalent to one CE hour.
• The material must have been presented within the two years prior to renewal and repeated presentations of the same material will not be accepted.
• Only presentations on dental sleep medicine topics in ADA CERP or AGD PACE recognized programs will be accepted.
• Submit a letter from the course sponsor or provider that verifies you as the presenter along with the date and title of the presentation.

Authoring Activities

• Articles on dental sleep medicine topics published in peer-reviewed journals are accepted as equivalent to two CE hours.
  • Articles must be published within the two years prior to renewal.
  • Any of the article's authors may use the article to meet Qualified Dentist renewal requirements.
  • Include a link to the article that verifies your role as author as well as the article's publication date.
• Book chapters on dental sleep medicine topics are accepted as equivalent to four CE hours.
  • Books must be published within the two years prior to renewal.
  • Any of the chapter's authors or editors may use the chapter to meet Qualified Dentist renewal requirements.
  • Include a link to the book that verifies your role as author or editor as well as the book's publication date.
