Clinical and administrative team members in general and specialized dental practices with an interest in screening for or treating patients with sleep-related breathing disorders.
Comprised primarily of 10-minute to one-hour lectures and demos, presentations are arranged to guide team members toward competence in a linear fashion. These shorter presentations ensure that the information is provided short, digestible pieces that can be easily referenced as team members apply their knowledge in practice.
Qualified DSM Team Member Designation
Following successful completion of the presentations and demos, a small quiz and verification of clinical competencies, team members will earn the AADSM Qualified DSM Team Member designation. This designation is a credential provided by the AADSM for team members who demonstrate basic competency in dental sleep medicine. The designation does not expire.
Upon completion of the recorded lectures and demos, participants will take a 30-question quiz to verify knowledge. There is no time limit for the exam, and it can be taken multiple times.
The AADSM DSM Team Training Program requires each team member (i.e., either clinical or administrative) who is completing the program to demonstrate competency with several skills. Participants will be provided with a detailed list of these nine clinical competencies that either need to be performed (clinical team members) or observed (administrative team members) under the supervision of a AADSM qualified dentist:
The AADSM will verify the dentist's qualified status prior to providing team members with access to the program. Should the AADSM be unable to confirm the dentist is an AADSM qualified dentist, team members will still be able to take the program; however, they will not be eligible to receive the Qualified DSM Team Member designation or certificate. Refunds will not be provided if the dentist is not qualified. Dentists interested in attaining the Qualified Dentist designation can complete Mastery 1 of the AADSM Mastery Program.
See Topics and Speakers below for an outline of the recorded presentations and demos.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
