Intro to Oral Appliances for Sleep Apnea

The Intro to Oral Appliances for Sleep Apnea: A Global Course is a new AADSM educational offering, geared towards dentists from around the globe who are new to dental sleep medicine. This live, virtual course will include 8 hours of lecture from an expert faculty who will introduce dentists to the treatment of oral appliance therapy to manage obstructive sleep apnea.

The course will be presented entirely in English. Each lecture will be live streamed at its dedicated time. Please review the complete course schedule below and make note of the time zone in which it will take place. Following each lecture, speakers will be available to answer questions through a live chat room. The course will be recorded and registered attendees will have access to all of the recorded lectures for one full year. Join us for this global event!


Registration Rate: $100 USD*

AADSM Active-Duty Military Member Rate: $25**

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  1. Explain the complexity and health implications of sleep-related breathing disorders and a dentist’s role in managing sleep-related breathing disorders;
  2. Describe demographics, pre-deposing factors, signs and symptoms, and co-morbidities of sleep-related breathing disorders and various techniques to identify patients at risk;
  3. Implement clinical strategies to incorporate evidence-based oral appliance therapies into a dental practice; and
  4. Establish an effective screening protocol and physician referral network supported by inner office systems to streamline and document referrals.

Target Audience

Dentists around the globe who are interested in beginning their educational experience in dental sleep medicine.

Teaching Method and Technology Requirements

This course will be conducted as a live, electronically mediated activity using a virtual platform. As such, participants must have access to a computer with an internet connection to participate in this course.  

Continuing Education

The AADSM is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. The AADSM designates this activity for the maximum of 8 live, electronically mediated CE credits

Cancellation and Refund Policy

To cancel a registration, written notification must be submitted to the AADSM at A $15.00 administrative fee will be withheld on cancellations postmarked on or prior to November 25, 2022. After November 25, 2022, no refunds will be available. 

The AADSM reserves the right to cancel a course and provide a full refund should conditions warrant. The refund will only include the cost of registration for the course.

Refunds will be applied to the original payment source (i.e., credit card, check). Any refunds applied via check will be processed by the AADSM to individuals in the US (or e-payment to individuals who chose to set up an account in and by wire transfer to individuals outside of the US.
